Flattr, c’est quoi ?

There are sites-communities one should talk more about. Flattr is one of them.

I never put adds on this blog, my idea when writing tests and reading ideas was not to be paid, but to share something. I was still asked several times on how to “thank” me. Well, now, it is easy. Get a flattr account if it is not already so, and click on the flattr button of posts you like ! A the end of the month, I will get a small thank you for each click, something like a few centimes, but if you add up centimes and centimes and centimes…

Flattr works on an easy base. You pay each month a few francs (or euros, or… ) (I choose 2 euros / month to begin with), and this amount is divided at the end of the month between all the posts/people you flattred. So in my case: 5 clicks, each 40 ct of euro, 1 clic and the person gets 2 euros, … If you flattr me, and are flattred too, the official Flattr site takes care of your account’s balance. To put money on it at the beginning, I used paypal, but there are several methods.

I do not expect much money out of flattr in the end, because honestly, I set my account up to flattr Alias and his short story in the Tigres Volants universe (I like to “pay” my books, even the electronic ones). But if you want to surprise me positively… well, it is up to you to flattr my articles you like!

For wordpress users, a very simple plugin (Flattr, by Michael Henke), works well and adds itself the button at the bottom of each post by asking only for your Flattr. As for the account creation and the first resources on it, it is very clearly explained on the official site. So no excuse like “but it is too complicated for me!”

(by the way, I also invented a verb, to flattr… because it is easier to speak of Flattr!) And if you want to read Alias’ post on his Flattr feedback… it is here: http://alias.codiferes.net/wordpress/index.php/flattr-rapport-pour-septembre-2012/

Yes, here! V Can you see the button? 😉

Flattr this!

  1. Bienvenue!

  4. […] très méta, j’ai également flattré deux contenus parlant de Flattr: Flattr, c’est quoi ?, signé Midori, et Flattr, How I Use It, une nouvelle initiative Tumblr de Vincent Favreau sur ce […]
